Dedicated to fighting dog cancer and cat cancer

1 in 4 dogs will develop cancer in their lifetime and lymphoma is one of the most common cancers in dogs. To help in the fight against this terrible disease, PetScreen has developed the first ever cancer screen for canine lymphoma.

The big problem with cancer in dogs is that it usually goes unnoticed until it is too late. When dog cancer is discovered early, the chances of successful treatment are much greater. Routine screening can improve cancer care by helping pick up tumours that might otherwise be missed.

PetScreen is a pioneering company dedicated to improving cancer detection and treatment in pets. We have developed the first ever screen for lymphoma cancer in dogs and we are now working on additional dog cancer screens for the other major canine cancer killers. Additionally, we are working on the development of screening tests for the major cat cancers.

We are currently recruiting blood samples from dogs who have been diagnosed with either Mast Cell cancer or with Canine Osteosarcoma (bone cancer). If your dog has recently been diagnosed with either of these conditions and you would be willing to donate a small blood sample (just 1 ml) it would help us speed up the availability of new tests for these dog cancers and thereby help other dogs in the near future. Donating blood for Mast Cell cancer or Osteosarcoma (bone cancer) in dogs

Thank You to Grateful Greyhounds Against Cancer
Who Donated Blood for our Bone Cancer Project

We would like to send a big thank you to Dr Bari-Sue Glaser of My Pets Vet, Huntingdon, NY and to all the owners and dogs for donating a blood sample at the Grateful Greyhounds Against Cancer Fall Ball in North Babylon, NY this weekend (21 September 2008).

Sample recruitment is key to everyone active in the fight against cancer in dogs and the samples collected by Grateful Greyhounds will go a long way in our efforts to develop new tests for bone cancer (osteosarcoma) in dogs.

Detecting Cancer in Dogs

The lymphoma screen only needs a very small blood sample which is taken by your vet. You can book your dog’s lymphoma screen through this website using the online booking form:

All you need to do then is to make an appointment with your vet to take the blood. We arrange the rest. The results will be sent to your vet directly in about two weeks who will then discuss the report with you.

Helping to Treat Cancer in Dogs

If cancer is detected, Petscreen provide an additional test called DCA which helps your vet find the best treatment for your dog’s cancer.

“The screen and treatment programme has been born out of a real passion for our dogs and the experience of losing them to cancer. This is for my curlycoat retriever, Coco, my Irish water spaniel Bruno and his best friend, Jazz. Lost to bone cancer, liver cancer and lymphoma. We miss you all”. Graeme Radcliffe. Chairman and Cofounder, PetScreen Ltd.
